Featured Soup :Eddington's Wild Rice Soup. Soup's ON article in Metro Mag By Elizabeth Millard
Campbell's was right: Soup is good food. And this chain of quick-moving cafeterias serves up some of the best in the Twin Cities. The chunky chicken-wild-rice soup is hands-down the most popular variety (and a good way to introduce out-of-state guests to Minnesota's state grain used in its most delicious form). We also love the creamy cheese soup. Other offerings may include chili, chicken-noodle, split-pea, vegetable-noodle and creamy chicken. You get six doughy breadsticks with your soup. Nothing's more warming on a blizzardy day. Sandwiches are good here, too, and they're hefty. Salads and baked potatoes are also available.
I never knew this restaurant existed until I did a restaurant search one day on Citysearch. From the first day I tried it, I couldn't stop going back for more. It's SOOOO excellent!!! Though they're all exceptional, the wild rice soup is particularly delicious. Plus, you can get all you can eat soup and breadsticks for under six dollars so you can try every variety. I went back every day for a week!!!! It's my new favorite restaurant. You've gotta try it, you'll love it. -Anonymous.
I recently traveled to MPLS to research a script I'm writing. I wanted to get a feel for the culture as well as try "good Minnesota food." A local, not sure what "good Minnesota food" was, suggested Eddington's. I thought to myself, "Soup? OK?" What a great place! The soup was a meal in itself, not to mention the breadsticks and the substantial selection of salads and sandwiches. I had to go everyday, accept Sunday (it's not open). I felt, as their mantra states, it was just "like coming home." Mr. Eddington, we're starving in Los Angeles! Send Help! -Anonymous.
I love this deli. I have never had a bad or even average meal here. It is great food and really great food for the money. The sandwiches, the soup, and the wraps. This is great for a quick lunch or brining the whole family. Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious. - hello123 in CitySearch

"When it's cold out", these "handy" Americans will warm you up with "fantastic", "creamy soups", "made-to-order sandwiches", "good, basic salads" and "all-you-can-eat" "breadsticks galore"; the addicted appreciate the "quick in-and-out" "cafeteria" service and sigh "if only they were open for dinner!"
